My “Go-To” Protein Ball Recipe

Do you ever reach for a snack, glance at the ingredient label, and feel overwhelmed by all the unnecessary extras? Same here! A few years ago, I started paying closer attention to what’s actually in my food—especially snacks—and I was shocked by how many additives sneak their way in. That’s when I started making more of my own snacks, from granola bars and sweet treats to nut mixes and protein balls. There are so many simple, delicious ways to create better-for-you snacks at home! Today, I’m sharing one of my all-time favorites: a must-try peanut butter protein ball recipe I think you’re going to love!

There are oodles of protein ball recipes available and I have tried quite a few! This homemade peanut butter protein ball recipe is simple, so delicious, and has become a household staple. I discovered it when it was shared by Katie Dunlop at Love Sweat Fitness a few years ago. Following was her post for this recipe: https://www.instagram.com/share/BBuN6k5wGR. I have tweaked this recipe a bit over the years; however, have kept it very similar to the original recipe posted. Following is the recipe and linked are the ingredients I use:

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together (a KitchenAid mixer works great!).
  • Use a cookie scoop or spoon to form golf ball-sized protein balls.
  • If the mixture feels dry, add more peanut butter or honey to help them stick.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Makes approximately 21-22 protein balls.

Here is a quick video tutorial for you to watch, as well!

I love these peanut butter protein balls as a quick breakfast, a satisfying snack, or even a sweet treat after dinner. I used to mix in mini chocolate chips, but over time, I found that a light drizzle of melted chocolate on top is just the right touch—even for a chocolate lover like me! I’ve also experimented with leaving out either the chia seeds or puffed quinoa, and they still turn out great, so feel free to customize them to your liking. My go-to protein powder is the LSF Peanut Butter Protein Powder. I use it almost daily, and it’s absolutely delicious! If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend giving it a shot.

I hope this recipe brings you a little bit of happiness! If you try it, let me know what you think—do you prefer mini chocolate chips mixed in or a chocolate drizzle on top? Share your thoughts in the comments, and drop a link to your favorite protein ball recipe—I’d love to try it!
